PIX 515 and NTP

I have setup NTP on our network with our core router as master. Can the PIX be a NTP client? Is so, where is the command reference? If not, how do you sync the time the on the firewall to match the network?

Thanks for any help!

Re: PIX 515 and NTP

Yes it can be a client. Started in version 6.2 I think. Use authentication if possible as well.

Here is the link for the command: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_62/cmdref/mr.htm#1033398

From the link:

pixfirewall(config)# show ntp

ntp authentication-key 1234 md5 ********

ntp authenticate

ntp trusted-key 1234

ntp server 10.10.1.2 key 1234 source inside prefer

pixfirewall(config)#

Hope it helps.

Can a PIX act as an NTP server as well?

No, I don't think it can. It was not until 6.1 that it could act as a client. The following link talks about the client.
