PIX 515 throughput

Hi there,

May I ask that is there any way to measure a PIX 515 interface throughput?

You can get basic information with 'show traffic' (note that the statistics will be calculated from the last time 'clear traffic' was issued or the PIX was rebooted.

A better option is to use some SNMP monitoring software such as MRTG, or for more complex applications try using some SNMP network management software (e.g. SNMPc, What's Up Gold etc.)

Another reader mentioned using MRTG, which does work great. If you just want a real time snapshot, rather than historical data, then upgrading to PDM 3.0 will do it. The home page when you load PDM show the interface throughput in real time, and the data will export to cvs format for spreadsheet use.
