PIX 515e / 1710 VPN

We currently have a PIX 515 E (6.2) and 1710 (12.2) router for our company VPN solution.

I do not think the equipment is performaning as it should be and am currently considering replacing with a concentrator.

How do I check the cpu performance, memory and throughput on the above machines before I recommend a concentrator?

Regards

Steve

Re: PIX 515e / 1710 VPN

Hi,

On 1710 , you can give sh proc cpu to check cpu utilization

show proc mem , show mem summ for memory

show int , show ip traffic for throughput .

if you do sh tech you will see many commands grouped as one command

Re: PIX 515e / 1710 VPN

Currently in this scenario a remote user will connect with the VPN client, as I understand it the request first goes to the PIX, then its passed to the 1710 and this handles all the process.

I am concerned with the performance of the 1710.

Is it possible to have a new client pool that terminates on the PIX?

The 1710 was introduced so we could perform VPN routing, but this is not necessary for all users.

Steve
