I have PIX 515E. I need SSH on PIX, but I couldn't make it, because I haven't DES or 3DES license in my software.
I became a new free license via Cisco, but I couldn't activate new key:
"ERROR: The requested activation key was not saved because it is not valid for this system."
I checked serial number (I got it via 'sh ver'). I repeated enter activate key.
Can You help me? Or I need write about it direct in Cisco Support?

I have heard that you need to manually enter in the license key -- that you should not cut-and-paste it from the email. I have never had this issue myself (yes, I cut and paste).
Alternatively, you may be encountering a software caveat. You may want to upgrade your code and try again, if you have entitlement.
If these 'tips' don't help then opening a TAC case is the next logical step.

I think that you have not given the correct information to cisco for generating the license key. Send a mail to licensing@cisco.com with an output of show version from your PIX. They should be able to help you out.
