Pix 515e and nat

hi all,

I recently deleted one of my nat statements because i needed to change the address the inside was being natted to. well i removed the old and added a new. i see it in the running config. but when i ping from the outside world, the old address still answers and the new one does not. am i missing something?!

Hello,

Could you try to:

clear xlate

"After you make any changes to translation rules on the PIX it is strongly encouraged that the clear xlate command be issued. This ensures that any old translations do not interfere with newly configured ones and cause them to operate incorrectly."

Do keep in mind an clear xlate clears all translations thus dropping all active connections which are translated.
