Hello,
you should have a look at the content of your flash and delete some files, which are not needed.
Then, when there are 6 MB free, try again.
Hope this helps

hi there i would suggest is to copy the ios from monitor mode it's very easy.
connect a tftp server from solarwinds on a windowsXP pc witha cross cable to the inside interface of the pix i mean ethernet1 .when booting ur pix press the esc key and go into the monitor mode.give the following commands and the server address is 10.0.0.2/8 gateway as 10.0.0.1
interface 1
address 10.0.0.1
server 10.0.0.2
ping 10.0.0.1
file pix704.bin
it will start copying from the monitor mode afther this command make sure the tftp server is running while doing this.it will erase the existing file system say confirm .this image is copied into the ram right now and not in the flash system.once in the new command prompt
interface ethernet 1
ip add 10.0.0.1 255.0.0.0
nameif inside
security-level 100
no shutdown
copy tftp flash
remote host 10.0.0.2
file pix704.bin
tftp
It will ask u for the erasing the existing file system .once the file is copied then
boot system flash:pix704.bin
write memory
to save the new ios in the flash and reload
if this solves ur issues pls rate it . thank u

having been following the conversation, but below are the file allocations:
file 0: PIX Firewall binary image, where the .bin file is stored.
file 1: PIX Firewall configuration data that you can view with the show config command
file 2: PIX Firewall datafile that stores IPSec key and certificate information
file 3: PDM image
file 4: crashdump file
file 5: Filesystem record

Do you mean 'write erase'? Then, I don't want to erase configuration.
Can I erase pdm only from flash?
Thanks, Alexc.
