PIX 520 Upgrade to 5.1 with DES Activation key

I have an old PIX 520, and want to do encryption with it. I did upgrade to 5.1 and properly entered activation key for DES encryption, but after reload, I don't see in show version that DES encryption is available. Furthermore, if I enter the command sh isakmp, I receive VPN DES is not enabled.

Tha old PIX 520 has connection based licence, so I assume that I have to upgrade first to feature based licence (if possible at all) and after that to DES licence.

Can anyone confirm this issue, or give me some input.

It sounds like you don’t have the right feature key. Contact Cisco’s licensing at licensing@cisco.com for help obtaining the right key.
