pix 525 does not complete the boot sequence

I have a problem with Cisco PIX Firewall 525 Version 6.2(2) . The main firewall and the failover don't complete the boot sequence. Below is the output from the consol.

Re: pix 525 does not complete the boot sequence

the issue maybe related to a faulty nic or port. to verify, simply remove all the nic and reload.

Re: pix 525 does not complete the boot sequence

This may or may not help you.

I had a 506e doing exactly the same thing and I could not get it past either screens. And all tests indicated the unit was OK.

On hunch, I pulled the unit cover and looked for a jumper that I could use to flush the BIOS.

On the 506e next to the CMOS battery there was a jumper. I disconnected the power, moved the jumper from pins 2-3 to 1-2 and powered the unit on.

The 506e booted up normally. I left it sit for an hour then powered down and moved the jumper back to its original position.

The unit continues to run normally.
