Re: PIX 525 upgrade

Hi,

You do not necessarily need to upgrade your PIX to 6.3 code to pick up 3DES support. But to answer your question...no, you do not need any additional memory on your PIX. Just make sure you have a 16MB flash card on this PIX as this is needed for everything post 5.1 code. I don't recall if the 525's ever shipped with the 2MB flash but I thought I would throw it out there. Please post a 'sh ver' if you would like confirmation.

Re: PIX 525 upgrade

Hi,

The minimum requirements are:

"PIX OS version 6.3(3) software. Requires a minimu of 8 MB Flash and 16 MB RAM."

Depending of the config and the number of connections/translation/encryption through the pix, you may need to upgrade the memory.

'show memory' shows the amount of memory that the pix is using right now.

Kind Regards,

Tom
