My administrator needs access from outside the network. He is currently using Timbuktu (like PC anywhere) I need to get through the firewall (PIX 515) to the servers. Timbuktu uses TCP ports 1417-1420 and UDP ports 407. I have written conduit statements: conduit permit tcp any any eq 1417. I have my static translations Static (inside, outside) ip address ip address netmask. Why will this not work?

I wouldn't put conduit statements in the pix just for that. Use PPTP, L2TP, or IPSec and create a VPN and have him VPN in and use it's private address to Timbuktu. This should solve your problem and provide a more secure operation.

Enable GRE (Generic Routing Encapsulation)
Example:
conduit permit gre host x.x.x.x any
