Pix causeing latency on a router?

I'm see'ing a weird effect here. I do a traceroute to a website from inside an Pix and a couple of routers on the internet show latency of 600+ ms. However from my border gateway outside of the firewall I don't see the latency on a traceroute in the same path.

Has anyone seen this before?

Check the interface stats on the interface conencted to the router. Make sure there is not a mismatch or other errors. A mismatch can cause latency issues. If not already done you should hardcode the speed and duplex on interfaces connecting the router and pix.
