I'm new to PIX firewalls and I wish to be able to debug the data going through the firewall. I've downloaded the Kiwi syslog daemon freeware. Has anyone used this type of software to capture data?. What commands would you use to be able to see the data?. I assume you need to use the DEBUG command(s).
I want to be prepared in case someone decides to flood our network or hit us with a DOS.
We have problems trying to access the web and I'm trying to find out if the firewall can tell me anything. Would anyone be willing to look through a sample syslog file (800k) and see if they can notice any problems?. I can email the logfile to you.
We cannot access any webpages or at the very least it is VERY slow. Our actual connection is ok as I've attached a PC directly to the router and it accesses the web fine.
