Hi,

Can you try to acecss it via console? This is your best way to check the firewall status when all communication totally unavailable.

It could be due to anything, i.e loose UTP cable, switch-port issue, PIX inside interface or internal problem, etc.

Once you're in, check the inside/internal interface status using "sh interface" command. Also, try to ping any internal/external host/server/switch IP connected to your PIX.

Other that that, are you connecting your PIX to any layer-3 switch/router? Since "No one has done any changes in Configuration", check the switch/router port and route statement (if any).

Check the LED status as well.

*Front Panel:

POWER - Green : The device is powered on.

POWER - Off: The device is powered off.

ACT - Flashing green : The software image has been loaded.

ACT - Off: The device is powered off.

NETWORK - Flashing green: One or more network interfaces are passing traffic.

NETWORK - Off: No network interfaces are passing traffic.

Rear Panel:

ACT - On : Network activity is present on the port.

ACT - Off: No network activity is present on the port.

LINK - On: Data is passing on the port.

LINK - Off: No data is passing on the port.

I check ed everything .

PIX started by changing Power cable.

But suddenly after 2-3 minutes it stops responding

I tried pinging Inside interface but afetr 2-3 minutes it shows RTO.

What do you see from console (CLI)? Sh log?

Enable syslog to highest level:

pix(config)#logging buffer debugging

Then test the PIX connectivity again. Can you ping anywhere from PIX console?

BTW, when you say changing power cable, does it mean you changed/swapped the power cord?

Rgds,

AK

Thanks

But my PIX doesnt goes ahead after reboot.

It is stuck on One location.

I think it hangs when rebooted.

And stopped responding.

Through console also you can only see starting after 1-3 seconds console mesaages are also stopeed.

What can be the reseaon.

I had resto9re factory default on friday and after that it worked for 2 days now suddenly it stopped again

ACT light in sgain DOWN.

ONLY Power,network lights are UP.

Thanks in advance
