Hi, I have a pix 515,

I have five users permission to have telnet session for the pix.

every body can telnet the pix.but when I added my workstation ip address to access telnet for this pix iam not able to access the PIX by telnet.

My workstation has static ip address.

iam getting this error on my workstation when i tried to access.

"C:\>telnet 172.20.11.10

Connecting To 172.20.11.10...Could not open a connection to host on port 23 : Connect failed"

***********************

PIX configuration:

telnet 172.20.30.40 255.255.255.255 inside

*************************

Mudassir,

The PIX configuration looks correct assuming your workstation has the IP address of 172.20.30.40

You will need to ensure the PIX has a route configured for your subnet or workstation address. From the PIX console are you able to ping your workstation ?

Secondly, you will need to ensure that if there is an access-list bound to the inside interface, that the access-list permits your workstation to telnet to the PIX.

Hope that helps

Regards
