Recently upgraded a pair of PIX-515's (not E's) from 5.x to 6.2, and am now seeing lots of errors on the inside Ethernet interfaces. They pass traffic, but the errors are numerous enough that there's clearly something wrong.
Tried speed/duplex, cable swaps, etc., to no avail. I found some old field notices about Ethernet controller errors on older 515's, but these weren't on the affected list.
OK...a dope slap on this one... Turns out the speed/duplex settings on the PIX's were fine. Only trouble is nobody ever did anything with the settings on the switch they were connected to (I know, it's a software upgrade...why would you have to?). But, a quick flip to auto-negotiate on the switch to get things settled down, and everything is good again. Ugh!
