My pix started having communication errors then quit talking. If you cold-boot, it will work for about 10minutes. The error that I received twice during boot was as follows:: " An internal error occured, specifically a programming assertion was violated.
assertion "bp->rptr >=bp->base && bp->wptr <= bp->limit" failed: file "block.c"
Any ideas? I replaced one nic, and have 3 on order tomorrow, pse reply - william.collins@whitehatmgmt.com

The error message could mean that PIX has detected a block with bad values in it, indicating a memory corruption occured.
Try removing the memory module and replace it with a standard module and see if it works.
You could also try re-seating the memory and interface cards before proceeding with memory upgrade.
