PIX IPSEC Compression

Hi,

My remote 2691 VPN router supports compression. All I need to do is define the transform set and append the "comp-izs" compression statement to this line.

The other end of this IPSEC tunnel resides on my PIX 525. Does anyone know how to check to see if compression is supported on this PIX and what would be the command set on the PIX side (if required)?

Regards

Jeff

Re: PIX IPSEC Compression

The command would be the same as it is on IOS. Unfortunately the PIX does NOT support IPSec compression, as stated here:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_sw/v_63/cmdref/c.htm#wp1026972

-------------------------------------------------

Output from the show crypto ipsec sa command lists the PCP protocol. This is a compression protocol supplied with the Cisco IOS software code on which the PIX Firewall IPSec implementation is based; however, the PIX Firewall does not support the PCP protocol.
