When the Primary outside adapter at set to auto or 100 mb they error disable the ports on the 6500 switch

It does this even if they are change to another set of ports

If the ports are set to 10mb it works but the port has collision

Any suggestion on how to correct this problem

How are the ports configured on the 6500?

If you are going to manually set the speed, set it on both devices.

Here's what I recommend:

1. Use the "set port host" command to disable trunking and EtherChannel on that port, and to turn on spanning tree portfast.

2. Manually set the 6509 port to 100/full

3. Set the PIX to 100/full

This should fix it. Hope this helps.

Why do you thing this will help and do you know what is causing this problem

I have done what you suggestions but still not working

The Port has losts of collision error and it is still error disabling if it is set to auto or 100mb but work at 10mb but has collision errors

What version of hardware/software do you have on the Pix?

The 6500 will errdisable a port that it detects a duplex mismatch on. Try locking both ports down as suggested.

What does the logging buffer say the reason for the disable was?

Check for a bad cable. Also you can use the undocumented command "set option errport enable". This will prevent the switch from disabling that port while you troubleshoot what the issue is. This affects the switch globally and should therefore only be used temporarily to troubleshoot the problem.

Does the Pix's interface work on other switches in 100/full duplex mode?

What command are you using to configure the Pix's interface?

interface ethernet0 100full
