PIX501 and ADSL modem - again

I am trying to use a DLInk ADSL modem in conjunction with a PIX501. The modem acts as a dhcp server, providing initially an IP address of 192.168.0.x by which it may be configured and then the 'real' IP address allocated by the ISP.

Whilst this works OK with a PC it doesn't work with a pix, because (I think I deduce correctly?? - using debug dhcpc) the pix will not accept a short lifetime lease - see following -

DHCP Offer Message Offered Address: 192.168.0.2

DHCP: Lease Seconds: 10 Renewal secs: 5 Rebind secs: 7

DHCP: Server ID Option: 192.168.0.1

DHCP: offer received from 192.168.0.1

DHCP: offer has below min lease length: 10. punt

DHCP: offer not good enough. punt

Is there a way to change the minimum lease period required by the pix?

You might have to switch to a PIX OS version that does not have a minimum lease time restriction. Please see bug CSCdz09957.
