PIX525 Gigabit Interfaces

The product literature for the PIX525 states that it is capable of supporting up to ten 10/100 Ethernet or three Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. It also says it comes with two integrated 10/100 Autonegotiation ports.

I assume the max of ten 10/100 inf's includes the two integrated. That would mean the expansion slots could handle eight 10/100 inf's or three 1000 inf's.

Can the Gig inf's be used for internal, external, or dmz inf's? That is, could I use the three gig inf's for the internal, external, and dmz inf's and not use the integrated inf's?

Thanx in advance,

dk

A - Yup, you got it.

A - Yup, you got it again.

Re: PIX525 Gigabit Interfaces

Thank you for the response, Scott. I have worked quite a bit with the 501-515 firewalls, but have not had much exposure to the higher-end appliances.
