Hi,
I have a 506e, standard setup, public IP forwarded to private IP of exchange server for HTTPS, SMTP, and POP3 ports. I have set up external pop users and they work fine. When I try and set up an Internal user, the only way I can get the pop service to the exchange server is to specify the private IP. When I put in the public name or IP it cannot find the server. I am not allowing ICMP traffic. What do I need to do to access the server from inside using the public IP? By the way I had to set no fixup on the smtp port to get the pop account to send. Whats up with that?
Thanks

you cannot use the public ip. the pix just does not work that way. to use the public hostname, you would need to look into the alias command, or run split dns, with an internal server that would resolve the hostname to the internal ip

Thanks - I put a host entry in our internal DNS server using the public hostname and the private IP, works fine now.
