PPPoE with LAN-to-LAN VPN

Dear All,

First of all, there are 2 PIXs with PPPoE setup on the outside interface, and the LAN-to-LAN vpn works well. The problem occurs when I tried to establish another tunnel between one of the 2 PIXs and a third PIX without PPPoE setup on the outside interface.

I was wondering if there would be any known isssue with this situation. I am looking forward to hear from you promptly.

Cheers,

Jack

Re: PPPoE with LAN-to-LAN VPN

I think that there is a round about solution that will work. Treat the second tunnel (PPPoE to non-PPPoE) as a Dynamic to Static VPN. The configuration for a dynamic to static VPN are available at http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/110/dynamicpix.html. The IP of your PIX will continue to be obtained dynamically (PPPOE). The outside interface of the other PIX's will be static. The configuration also deals with allowing a VPN connection from a VPN client. You could leave those statements out (such as vpngroup and ip local pool).
