PPTP, PAT and IOS

I have PAT setup on a 6509 for address translation. I have someone that wants to connect to a VPN server across the Internet using Microsoft's PPTP client.

So far the connections are failing. I am pretty sure it can be fixed by using a Static address, I was just curious if there is any way around having to use a static address.

Some people have mentioned PPTP passthrough, but the only example I found on cisco's site pertains to the server side and not the client side.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: PPTP, PAT and IOS

Open the tcp port 1723 and also enable the GRE(47) on the server side interface to allow pptp traffic.
