Problem Setting AUto-Update on 3.x for 11pm

Hi,

We have a sensor on 3.1(3)S49. We wanted to set it to auto-update the signatures from an FTP server at 11:15pm every day of the week. We set this up through IDM.

However, we found that it was impossible to set it to do it at any time starting 11pm (i.e. 23:00, 23:15, 23:30, etc). Other times, such as 21:15 and 22:15 work fine. We get the error message in IDM 'Hours must be selected' (or something like that) in _very_ small print at the bottom of the screen.

Has anyone else seen that?

Joe

Re: Problem Setting AUto-Update on 3.x for 11pm

There may be a bug in the way IDM is validating the hours. It may have accidentally been put in as less than 23 instead of less than or equal to 23.

Try to configure this through the unix shell instead of IDM and see if you see the same problem.

Refer to the following link for information on how to do it through the shell:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/csids/csids8/13870_01.htm#xtocid35

If it works through the shell but no IDM, then you have likely come across a bug in IDM. You can contact the TAC and they can enter a bug against IDM for you.

If it does not work through the shell either, then there may be another problem.

In a worst case you may just settle for using 22:59 to have it start at 10:59pm.
