I have a sensor that was previously configured as token-ring. now the token ring card has been removed and an ethernet card installed. How do i reconfigure solaris x86 to recognize the new card. The touch /reconfigure incantation does not appear to work.
you could try clearing the bios settings. touch reconfigure, reboot and interrupt the boot sequence, find an option to clear all settings, then reboot again.
Your best bet is to re-image the sensor using the 3.0 Recovery CD (or later). The new image includes a script to identify network interfaces and load the appropriate drivers. Assuming you are using a supported ethernet card, this should fix your problem. Use of non-approved network interfaces on the Cisco IDS sensor appliance is unsupported.
