Remote Network Management

What are the components of network management that can be offered as an "online only" ( i.e. no onsite) service ?

How can these "online only" services have value to customers ? What kind of customer would this be ? What possible revenue models can emerge from this ?

Is anyone aware of examples of service companies that have implemented such "online only" service models ?

The focus of this board is Virtual Private Networks, however, there are a number of professionals online who may be able to assist you.

Could you provide more specific's regarding what "online only" service is and how you feel it pertains to your VPN strategy.

I have done some study on this. I believe that especially monitoring services can be done "online only".

Monitoring in my book includes:

- status (i.e. are devices/ports up/down);

- performance (for example % bandwidth used on a WAN link).

Also (re-)configuring can in many cases be done on-line.
