Remote Peer Not Responding Reason 412 when Connected to Verizon Air Card

I am having an issue with my Verizon Air card and VPN client V 4.0.3F not playing nice. The air card is the PC5740 version with Venturi Client. I uninstalled the Venturi Client as it is known with Verizon not to play well with VPN clients. My problem now is I get the internet connection with the card, but I don't get a response from the VPN client version. Any ideas?

The problem might be related to the MTU size
