Replacing Pix 506 with ASA 55XX

I need to replace a pix 506E with an ASA 5510. Since the pix 506 can't be upgraded to pix 7.04ED software, is there a way to convert the pix config to the ASA equivelant? There needs to be a utilitiy like there is for the conduits to ACL's.

Anyone have any ideas of how to handle this without manually doing every line seperately.

Thanks.

Re: Replacing Pix 506 with ASA 55XX

Hello Nelson,

I really dont think if this can be done automatically. ASA 5510 has a V7.0 IOS. The CLI and the commands are totally different from the older 6.3 IOS. You can use the telnet or web interface to configure this box, equivalent to the old configs.

If you upgrade the IOS on the same box, the configs gets changed automatically to the new OS, but this is dealing with a new box which is already with 7.0 OS.

Hope this helps. rate replies if found useful..
