router delay

I have connected directly two routers 3640 with Ip a.b.c.d/24 at 192K & router 2600 a.b.c.d/27 at 64k , but when i ping router 3640 from PC connected to router 2600 i'm getting unstable result ranging from 23ms to

500ms while it was supposed to be 23ms, what should i do in ths situation.

check out your configuration. your clock rate, bandwidth and routing table and your running configuration to c if there is any problem.
