Router flash read-only

I'm configuring my router as a TFTP server that saving other routers' running configuration into flash memory. But problem here is router's flash memory is read -only and no router could address it....

Router#show flash

System flash directory:

File Length Name/status

1 15778276 c2500-js-l.122-12.bin

[15778340 bytes used, 998876 available, 16777216 total]

16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read ONLY) <<<<<<<

Router#dir flash:

Directory of flash:/

1 -rw- 15778276 <no date> c2500-js-l.122-12.bin

16777216 bytes total (998876 bytes free)

I'd like to open the lock so that this router could virtually be a TFTP server.

What can I do ?

thanks!

Re: Router flash read-only

The 2500 series routers run from flash, unless the image is compressed and there is enough DRAM in the router to decompress the image to and run it.
