Router syslog and RME (again...)

Hello

My router syslog messages do not appear on RME syslog reports.

I have a firewall and a switch having their syslog displayed correctly.

The router is correctly added to the device list on RME. I am using IP addresses to identify my devices. Router syslog messages appear in the syslog file on the management server. The router clock is correct. Finally, nothing appears on the unexpected device report.

Some syslog messages are discarded because they are considered invalid. Could this be the case of my router ? Here is a sample message from the syslog file :

Dec 19 14:04:43 172.19.101.1 33: Nov 26 16:22:57.918: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by console

And here is the syslog configuration on the router :

logging trap warnings

logging facility local4

logging source-interface FastEthernet0

logging 192.168.203.11

Could you please help ? Thank you in advance.

Re: Router syslog and RME (again...)

I'm not sure if it solves the problem but try to set the severity level lower,

logging trap debugging

logging monitor debugging

to test syslog create an ACL with

permit ip any log

(ACL logs are categorized in informational severity)

and see if there is any change or just shutdown and then no shutdown an interface

hope it helps
