Hi

This is the datasheet available for PIX 525 Security Appliance which has the performance summary tabled out..

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_data_sheet09186a0080091b09.html

BTW are you running up with 256MB or 128MB in your pix ??

Again any perf issues being faced out there with the current H/W config ??

regds

Its with 256 RAM, I am not running OSPF on it as of now. But once connected to network it will have good enogh routing entries. So just wanted to know if it good enough in routing as a 3660 or 7200 is?

I don't think there is a single answer for your question. As there are many variables that will determinie how eficient the PIX will perform .. you need to consider things such as encryption, access-list , concurrent connections ...etc. If you already have the PIX up and running I suggest you to monitor its overall performance .. see the link below for some test you can do. If overall the PIX seems to be couping OK then I don't think OSPF will put to much overheat .. once the PIX have learned the OSPF topology routing exchanges are miminum and table calculations are performed only when a link status changes.

I hope it helps ... please rate it if it does !!!
