Runt packets and CRC errors.

I have a PIX 501 with 3 users who's internet is VERY close. There is a VPN tunnel to another branch, but, i'm noticing on the outside interface:

6 Runts, 10 CRC errors with 3389 Packets 1010000 bytes. I know any CRC or runts are a bad thing, and i'm wondering if anyone can give me any insight as to what could cause this. I know faulty hardware can create these problems, but, i'm not sure where to investigate past this.

Thanks!

Re: Runt packets and CRC errors.

could be a duplex/ speed mismatch on the pix and whatever its outside interface is plugged into. is the device is it plugged into managable, and if so, does it have its ethernet speed and or duplex settings hard coded? even if not, it could be an autonegotiation problem, and you could try configuring both devices to 100megabit full duplex to get out of the autonegotiation business altogether
