Is there any way to encrypt syslog/snmp traps from a Cisco IOS device over the internet. I know I can create a IPsec VPN from the router itself to a remote firewall, but I do not want to take this route. Is there an inherant IOS feature to encrypt logging functions for device that hang directly on the internet?
I am not aware of any feature that would encrypt only logging functions for devices that hand directly on the Internet. If it is important to you that the syslog be encrypted, then I believe that you will need to configure VPN.
