Security Design

We are going to set up a Web Server, so about 20 users from our branch offices connect to our applications from the internet. Because they will acces online information, security is a critical point for this project.

Do I need I pix? What kind of pix do I need?

What recommendation could you give me?

Thanks,

Marco Novoa

Re: Security Design

hi ,

i assume the web servers are at u r CO. PIX will be a good form of security to u r web servers. u can put them in u r DMZ of the PIX. But really speakin u dont need a PIX, since the number of users connecting to them are less. u can very well use a MS Proxy server with 3 NICs, one connected to external network, one to internal network and one to the DMZ where u put these servers.

that would be much more costeffective and would provide basic security also.

Re: Security Design

Pix firewall is definately one of the better products out there, but for 20 individuals you might want to look at the lower pix models.

I have implemented several pix appliances throughout out lan wan infrastructure with little problems.

Good luck.
