Selective Acknowledgement

How far back the selective-ack feature supported for the PIX? We have a PIX 515 running v5.1 and a vendor saying that they are communicating using selective acknowledgements.

I see the commands in a the v.7.0 reference, but not earlier. Also, I'm working under the assumption that selective-acks are forwarded by default on our edge router which is running IOS 12.4.3 (this may be an incorrect assumption).

Do I need to upgrade to 7 in order to allow the vendor's software to use selective-ack?

SACK has been supported in the PIX since 6.2(2) as per this bug/feature request:

If you're running 5.1 you'll have to upgrade (make sure you have enough memory though first, read the release notes for your selected version here):
