SigId 3110 - Suspicious Mail Attachment

I'm getteing alerts for SigID 3110 and when I look at the alert's context buffer, I see the mail attachemnt that was sent contained a ".scr" extension. According to the NSDB and the Cisco Secure Encylopedia, this alert should fire when a mail attachment containing ".vbs", ".vbe", ".wsf", ".wsh", and ".hta" extensions are sensed.

I've tried locating the SigID 3110 and it's related SigID 1343 using the SigWizMenu and the IDM browser, but can't find these SigID's.

Can anyone confirm if this SigID is really supposed to fire on mail attachments containing the ".scr" extension? If so, where can I find this information?

TIA -

Re: SigId 3110 - Suspicious Mail Attachment

3110 is currently not tunable in SigWizMenu. It will be in 4.0 of the IDS. ".scr" is one of the suspicous mail attachments. The NSDB was not updated when the extentsion was added to the program. I will fix this for the next signature update with a list of all the mail extensions.
