All,
I am not a pix admin but am trying my best. I have a windows 2000 syslog server setup and would like to capture logs from my pix. I have went into conf t and typed the following:
hgg_firewall1(config)# logging host inside 10.5.4.12 udp/514
The response I get back is:
Port out of range: 1025-65535.
So what am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Michael, for Syslog on the default UDP=514 use the command:
hgg_firewall1(config)# logging host inside 10.5.4.12
If you enter a port , other than default 514, it must be in the range 1025-65535.
Here's a link on PIX logging:

Hope this helps,
Nelson
