So I cant tell if this me or what. We have a 2811 without the IOS firewall turned on, it talks to a 2nd site over a VPN tunnel, ASA on the other end. Users in the site with the 2811 telnet over the tunnel to a server behind the ASA. They can connect using telnet and work for about 1.5 hours then their connection is closed. Did I miss something, is this normal do I have to turn off telnet timeouts over VPN?
Any ideas?

I think you will need to setup for telnet timeouts. Following link may help you

Thanks!
I look this over, we are not telneting to the ASA which it seems thats what this is about. we are telneting to a server behind the asa. Unless I read it wrong and the asa treats the same even if the dest address is behind the asa.
