SMTP authentication fails after moving mail server into DMZ.

Hi,

I am new to PIX 515E. We have a mail server that enable mobile user to be able to relay outgoing mail with SMTP authentication.

It works fine when the mail server was outside of PIX 515E Firewall. Now all the mobile users fail to relay mail using SMTP authentication after we have moved the mail server into DMZ. Local users and relaying to local domains are OK. We did give access SMTP to that particular host. Pls share ur knowledge if you have any idea about it.

Difficult to say without seeing the log from the PIX when this fails. It's quite possibly the SMTP fixup within the PIX, so try:

> no fixup protocol smtp 25

and see if that helps. If it does, great. If it doesn't, enable logging on the PIX with:

> logging on

> logging buffer debug

Try a mail relay connection or whatever it is that fails, then do a "sho logg" and send us the output.

It works! I've just tried from internet to access.

thanks a lot.
