How can I tell if I have opened Port 500, Port 50 and enabled Port forwarding on my cisco 1720? I am using a Sonicwall pro vx for VPN management and authentication.

Implement a port scan on the IP address that you are inquiring about. Tools like Nmap w/ Nmapfe , or Java based portscanners are useful.

Portforwarding on the router is a matter of ACLs. Do you have it blocked with an ACL for that particular port?? Is it explicitly permitted??
