Split PPTP tunnel with PIX 501

Hi,

I have set up PPTP Remote VPN on PIX 501, it works fine, I am able to access resources on the remote office LAN.

Is it possible with PPTP to set split tunnel so I could access the Internet through the office LAN while connected to VPN? I tried

vpngroup PPTP_VPDN_GROUP split-tunnel split_acl

but this didn't work. When configuring VPN throuh PDM there is no check box for split tunnel for PPTP so I am wondering if this possible with PPTP at all?

On the other side I can set up Microsoft VPN client not to use remote gateway and I will be able to browse the Internet through the local connection but I would prefer to do it through remote LAN.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Alex

hello Alex,

unfortunately, u dont have split-tunnels with PPTP. i havent seen any commands with respect to split-tunnels with PPTP. there are some docs on the net, which also confirms this.

anyway, u can implement IPSEC to have split-tunneling features enabled !!!! this is the best way of going about, since IPSEC also has encryption of the data packets...

hope this helps.. all the best... rate replies if found useful..
