SQL Database access from within DMZ

Hi guys..

I am having some issues with accessing an SQL database through a PIX firewall. The connection seems to be dropping quite a lot.. I have temp. allowed full access between the two machines and I still seem to be having issues.

I also thought it might have something to do with the timeout period...

To be honest I am only new to this whole cisco thing but I set the tcp timeout to 0 (infinite) to test and it didn't seem to make much difference ?

The output of the show timeout was:

timeout xlate 3:00:00

timeout conn 0:00:00 half-closed 0:10:00 udp 0:02:00 rpc 0:10:00 h323 0:05:00 sip 0:30:00 sip_media 0:02:00

timeout uauth 0:05:00 absolute

Should I be changing the timeout of anything else ?

I have also done a sh ver, output was:

Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.2(2)

Cisco PIX Device Manager Version 2.1(1)

Compiled on Fri 07-Jun-02 17:49 by morlee

xxxxxxx up 42 days 16 hours

Hardware: PIX-515E, 32 MB RAM, CPU Pentium II 433 MHz

Flash E28F128J3 @ 0x300, 16MB

BIOS Flash AM29F400B @ 0xfffd8000, 32KB

If there are any other details you guys require please let me know.

Thanks.

Re: SQL Database access from within DMZ

Also, are any changes to the timeout instant .. or do you have to reload the firewall ? ?
