Hi!
I'm trying to enable stateful failover using the same interface as the control interface (management0/0), but I get this error:
CiscoASA(config)# failover link stateful management0/0
ERROR: interface already in use as failover interface
Cisco Press "Cisco ASA All in One" says this is possible when connecting the 2 asa through a layer2 switch, which is done...
Suggestions appreciated!

I don't think you can use management interface for failover ......

Failover works fine using management interface...
The books says its possible to use same interface for stateful-info.
Suggestions?

Hi,
An ethernet interface required for stateful failover must be used 'exclusively' for state info. i.e. cannot be used for any other purpose, except the lan-based failover interface can be shared with the stateful failover interface. Or so i've heard. So, that rules out using the management interface.
Hope this helps,
Glen

Why does that rule out the management interface? :)
