My problem the same as the PIX515 matter on 1ST MAY!When changed static nat.I found a inside IP address was coded in the PIX,no matter what global IP address mapping it.From outside interface,I couldn,t access it!(Note:Global IP address is OK absolutely, that inside ip address ,In the pix,I could ping it!means It is Ok too!I has cleared ARP &xlate too ).
If you mean you want to PING inside IP address (Ethernet1) of the PIX from a device on the outside by static translation ??? if so, then this is not going to work. PIX, by design does not allow to ping IP address of the other side interface that you are coming from.
In summary from a device on outside, you cannot ping inside IP address, and from a device on inside, you cannot ping outside IP address.
