Hi all,

Which is the difference between these two commands?

static (outside,inside) 192.168.1.17 76.154.186.55 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0

static (inside,outside) 76.154.186.55 192.168.1.17 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0

I thought the static command was bi-directional...

Thanks in advance

The main difference in these 2 are that the static (outside,inside) command wont work. The static command is bi-directional, but it wants the local interface first then the interface to be nated on. I tried this on my 501 and the static didnt work and the pix defaulted to my nat/global hide which caused all services in to this box to be unaccessable.
