Support for 3GE/2FE on a PIX 525

Is this a supported HW configuration? It isn't listed

as such in the install manual. I'm guessing that the

2 built-in interfaces aren't listed in that table

in the install manual, just the interfaces that can

be added via the PCI slots.

Hi,

Check the list of options for number of interfaces you can use on pix-525.It will depend on the License you have in pix.

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_sw/v_63/hig63/525.htm#wp1040963

Hope this helps.

Actually your link points to the same table I

referenced in my earlier post. My interpretation

of this table is that it shows the possible

combinations of interfaces that can be installed

using the 3 PCI slots, and doesn't include the

2 built-in FE interfaces.

I tested this by installing 3GE PCI cards, and all

the interfaces (3GE + 2FE) are recognized by the OS,

so I'm assuming that this is a supported configuration.

thanks,

Peter
