Switchport-based ACLs for Cat 65K?

Hi,

I am exploring whether ACLs can be applied on the switchports of a Cat 6500 (6509 to be more specific). I understand that Port-based ACLs can be applied using Cat OS, however we do not have the option of using the Cat OS.

We have FastEthernet interfaces on which we would like to apply the ACLs.

Any pointers on this will be appreciated.

Hi,

AFAIK, you can apply ACLs only on routed ports or SVI interfaces only. You have the option of using VACLs to filter traffic within a VLAN or across VLANs on the 6500 switch as well.
