Telnet Access PIX 6.2(2) Using PPTP

Hi,

I would like to be able to telnet to my PIX from the outside connecting via PPTP. I know that I can do this with an IPSEC connection but can I with a PPTP connection, if so where on CCO can I find configuration examples of this?

Thanks in advance,

Chad

Hi Chad,

You cannot telnet to the outside interface of the Pix through a PPTP connection and can only telnet through an ipsec tunnel or you can configure SSH if that is an option for you.

You may consider to use ssh, command:

ssh x.x.x.x 255.255.255.255 interface

you may then use something like secureCRT program to ssh to your pix. it's secure and simple.
