You can't, and you don't want to. Use ssh. Google for putty , which is a free ssh client for windows. If you don't have a 3des license for your pix, you will have to configure putty not to terminate when using a single des connection.

Here's one good way to do this:

Setup your PIX to allow the software VPN client to connect. Then once you've brought up a VPN Client connection you can telnet to the outside IP of your pix and it'll be secured by your VPN connection.

Take a look at http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/110/pix3000.html for examples.

Re: Telnet PIX from outside

You can do telnet to pix from inside interface only. If you are very much eager to run telnet from outside, you have to configure "ssh" in pix which is heavily discouraged. Actual implementation documentation is available to CCO login only.

You could also set up a device on the internal network that you can SSH to and open a hole in the firewall to allow you to SSH to that machine from outside. Once inside you can initiate a telnet connection to the inside interface of the firewall from that device.
